We take a look back at Week 12 in the Big Ten, including a thrilling triple overtime game between Northwestern-Michigan.
Saturday, November 16th
Illinois (home) vs. #3 Ohio State (away): Ohio State rolled over the Illinois Fighting Illini 60-35 behind QB Braxton Miller who passed for 150 yards and two touchdowns, also rushing for 184 yards and one touchdown. Buckeye RB Carlos Hyde was a beast with 246 yards and four touchdowns. Hyde also got 26 yards in the passing and a touchdown reception. Illinois QB Nathan Scheelhaase passed for 288 yards and two touchdowns. Scheelhaase got 46 rushing yards and a touchdown running the football but needed a little more against the Buckeyes. Ohio State remains undefeated at 10-0. #JYPREDICTION: Ohio State
Purdue (away) vs. Penn State (home): Penn State rushing attack was in full effect against Purdue with a total of 289 yards on the ground. Nittany Lion RB Zach Zwinak led Penn State with 149 yards and three touchdowns. Christian Hackenberg had another solid day with 212 yards and a touchdown, also rushed for a touchdown. Purdue freshman QB Danny Etling played well passing for 223 yards and a touchdown also rushed for a touchdown. The Big Ten future looks bright with two promising leaders with a lot of talent but on this day Hackenberg gets the win over Purdue 45-21. #JYPREDICTION: Penn State
Indiana (away) vs. #22 Wisconsin (home): It was an easy day for Badger QB Joel Stave who passed for 122 yards because Wisconsin rushed for 554 in a 51-3 blowout over the Indiana Hoosiers. Wisconsin had three 100 yard rushers with James White (205 yards and a touchdown), Melvin Gordon III (146 yards and a touchdown), and Cory Clements (108 yards and two touchdowns). Fourth string running back Jared Abbrederis rushed for 86 yards and two touchdowns. Wisconsin was the better team on this day. #JYPREDICTION: Wisconsin
#16 Michigan St. (away) vs. Nebraska (home): Ameer Abdullah continues to show the world that he is a big time running back even against the number one defense in the nation, rushing for 123 yards. However, Michigan State QB Connor Cook has been the answer for Sparty all season with his confidence and ability to manage football games. Cook passed for 193 yards and a touchdown. Jeremy Langford rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns as Michigan State wins 41-28. #JYPREDICTION: Michigan St.
Northwestern (home) vs. Michigan (away): Northwesten was extremely close in this game, with another nail biting and dramatic ending with bowl contentions on the line, but failed in triple overtime to put away Michigan, losing 27-19. The Wolverines QB Devin Gardner passed for 226 yards and a touchdown as well as rushed for a touchdown to lead Michigan. Northwestern has one final chance to become bowl elgible this Saturday in their final home game of the season. #JYPREDICTION: Northwestern
