We preview the slate of games in the Big Ten, with Michigan and Nebraska being the Big Ten main event.
Saturday, November 9th
Illinois (away) vs. Indiana (home): This game is huge for both teams because it can create possibility for a bowl appearance for either team. Illinois has a great leader at QB in Nathan Scheelhaase. However, with a young team offensively, and a defense who struggles on third downs, Indiana offense will be too much for the Illini to overcome. #JYPREDICTION: Indiana
Purdue (home) vs. Iowa (away): Iowa goes on the road looking to be victorious over the young Boilermaker football team. This is a game Hawkeye QB Jake Rudock can dominate and sharpen up on some things as Iowa prepares for bowl season. Purdue has played hard all season despite having a season of growing pains. Iowa running game and physical defense should overpower Purdue. #JYPREDICTION: Iowa
Penn State (away) vs. Minnesota (home): With the Minnesota Vikings struggling this season in the NFL, the Gophers have given football fans in Minnesota something to cheer about. Minnesota has a chance to play in the Big Ten Championship if they can continue these winning ways in conference play. The Gophers face a disciplined and good football team in Penn State led by freshman sensation QB Christian Hackenberg. Nittany Lion running back Bill Belton has gotten more confident each week and has given Hackenberg another weapon with his ability to make plays in various ways. This game will come down to which quarterback plays the best. I think Christian Hackenberg will outplay Minnesota QB Philip Nelson. #JYPREDICTION: Penn State
Michigan (home) vs. Nebraska (away): Michigan got embarrassed last week against Michigan State on a national stage. Offensively, Michigan didn’t exists last Saturday, and this week the Wolverines will be intense, hungry, and anxious to get out on the field to battle Nebraska. I expect some huge numbers from Wolverine QB Devin Gardner, and the offensive unit of Michigan to explode. Nebraska escaped Northwestern last week, but it will be tough for RB Ameer Abdullah to carry so much of the offensive load against a very good Michigan defense. #JYPREDICTION: Michigan
#24 Wisconsin (home) vs. BYU (away): Wisconsin steps out of conference play to face a good BYU team whom is on a five game winning streak. BYU is led offensively by duel threat QB Taysom Hill who leads the team in both passing and rushing yards. Hill is being compared to Colin Kaepernick of the San Francisco 49ers with his style of play. BYU will face a physical, disciplined, and talented Badger football team who beats you up on both sides of the football and will challenge Hill. Wisconsin has the best running back core in the country with Melvin Gordon III and James White. Will we see the running back duo celebrating with their touch down dance on the sidelines this weekend? I think so! #JYPREDICTION: Wisconsin
