Two big name schools are clashing in the Big Ten this week, as Penn State travels to Ohio State to take on the Buckeyes. Find out who we think will take home the victory.
Saturday, October 26
Illinois (home) vs. Michigan State (away): Michigan State has been impressive since QB Connor Cook was given keys to drive the Spartan offense as a starting quaterback. Defensively, Michigan State is amongst the best in the country and will cause a lot of problems for QB Nathan Scheelhaase and that Illinois offense. #JYPREDICTION: Michigan State
Penn State (away) vs. #4 Ohio State (home): Penn State shocked the world defeating undefeated Michigan two weeks ago. Freshman QB Christian Hackenberg is a beast and has played extremely well throughout the season. Penn State plays physical on both sides of the football. The Nittany Lions are similar to Iowa but with a better quarterback, and last week Ohio State was in a dog fight with the Hawkeyes. Ohio State has QB Braxton Miller and RB Carlos Hyde who refuse to lose. When your leaders have a mentality of perfection and a will to succeed its difficult to go against the Buckeyes. #JYPREDICTION: Ohio St.
#24 Nebraska (away) vs. Minnesota (home): Minnesota played as a team and pulled off an upset last week in Evanston, Illinois against the Northwestern Wildcats in the Big Ten. This week Nebraska who has been on a role visits Minneapolis to continue their winning ways. Nebraska’s RB Ameer Abdullah has been the most vauable player for the Corn Huskers and his play has energized this team to be the Nebraska who competes for championships. This game will be competitive but I think Nebraska pulls this one out in the end. #JYPREDICTION: Nebraska
Northwestern (away) vs. Iowa (home): Northwestern is on a three game losing streak and the teams who have defeated the Wildcats made the game very simple offensively; run the football. Northwestern will face another physical team this week in Iowa who has a beast at full back in Mark Weisman. Weisman has speed, he is strong, and whenever the Hawkeyes need a play offensively Weisman leaves his mark on every play. The Wildcats have to bounce back and fast before this season gets away from them. I’m hoping Minnesota was a wake up call for Northwestern, maybe a humbling experience. If this team does not play football with the energy and passion of Head Coach Pat Fitzgerald, this will be a long game. #JYPREDICTION: Iowa
