It was another week of favorites winning in the Big Ten conference. Can anyone catch the Buckeyes?

Saturday, October 19

Purdue (away) vs. Michigan State (home):  Purdue came out focused and ready to upset Michigan State playing tremendous defense and making plays throughout the game.  The sign of a young team is not being able to finish.  The Boilermakers would get into some good situations but couldn’t finish off drives.  In a defensive battle, usually the team who makes a couple of plays win the game and that is what Michigan State did on Saturday.  Spartans Linebacker Denicos Allen got a scoop and score off a sack/fumble by Boilermaker QB Danny Etling.  Michigan State WR Tony Lippett passed the ball in the end zone to TE Andrew Gleichert leading the Spartans to 14-0 victory.  Jeremy Langford continued his good play rushing for 131 yards for Michigan State.  #JYPREDICTION: Michigan State

Michigan (home) vs. Indiana (away):  Devin Gardner set a University of Michigan record with total offensive yards, passing for 503 yards with two touchdown and rushed for 81 yards and three touchdowns, which was a total of 584 yards on the day.  Michigan WR Jeremy Gallon caught 14 passes for 369 yards and two touchdowns.  Fitzgerald Toussaint had a great game bouncing back from his performance against Penn State rushing for 151 yards and four touchdowns.  Indiana did put up a fight, QB Tre Roberson passed for 288 yards and three touchdowns, also rushing for 50 yards and scoring a touchdown.  In the end, the Wolverines were too much winning this contest 63-47.  #JYPREDICTION: Michigan

Iowa (away) vs. #4 Ohio State (home):   When you are Ohio State, you haven’t lost a game in two years, and you are one of the elite teams in the country; every game is a big game because people have targeted you on their schedule.  Iowa was physical on both sides of the football and played that traditional style we are use to seeing from the Hawkeyes.  Iowa QB Jake Rudock similar to the Northern Illinois game earlier this season played well, passing for 245 yards and three touchdowns, but threw a key interception late in the game which gave Ohio State huge momentum to close out the Hawkeyes.  Buckeye QB Braxton Miller is going to make some NFL franchise extremely happy with his ability to make plays, but the heart he has to win games.  Miller passed for 222 yards and two touchdowns also rushing for 102 yards.  Carlos Hyde Ohio State big time running back rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns.  Ohio State wins this game at home 34-24.  #JYPREDICTION: Ohio St.

#25 Wisconsin (away) vs. Illinois (home):  Wisconsin went on the road and again displayed an impressive performance against the Fighting Illini.  Joel Stave passed for 189 yards and two touchdowns.  Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon III had another great day in the office with 142 yards and three touchdown, also RB James White added 98 yards and two touchdowns.  Defensively Wisconsin clamped down and made plays to stop most of Illinois momentum.  Illini QB Nathan Scheelhaase passed for 249 yards.  Wisconsin comes away victorious 56-32.  #JYPREDICTION: Wisconsin

Northwestern (home) vs. Minnesota (away):  Northwestern does a tremendous job of defending their home field.  With Minnesota came in some people predicted that the Wildcats would be on upset alert playing without QB Kain Colter, and All-American RB Venic Mark.  Trevor Siemian passed for 234 yards and a touchdown but had two crucial interceptions in the game.  With players hurt it was a chance for other Wildcats to step up and take advantage of an opportunity to get on the field and show what they could do.  Redshirt freshman RB Stephen Buckley rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown.  In the end, Minnesota showed toughness and came to Evanston with a will to win.  Gophers RB David Cobb rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown, and QB Phillip Nelson passed for 112 yards and a touchdown with no turnovers to give Minnesota the advantage 20-17. #JYPREDICTION: Northwestern
