The Big Ten is host to one of the biggest games of the week: Wisconsin vs. Ohio State. Before we get to that, let’s see how the other conference games will go.

Saturday, September 28th, 2013

Minnesota (home) vs. Iowa (away): The Big Ten Season has finally arrived for the Gophers. Defensively Minnesota has looked impressive and offensively the Gophers have been solid. Iowa comes on the road and QB Jake Rudock has improved his play and leadership every game. I believe the Hawkeyes have been more battle tested than Minnesota in the non conference and I’m picking Iowa to go on the road and steal a win in a very close game. #JYPREDICTION: Iowa

Illinois (home) vs. Miami (OH) (away): Nathan Sheelhaase has been the most improved player in the Big Ten so far this season. He has improved his passing precision, efficiency, and his confidence is extremely high. Miami-Ohio representing the MAC has traditionally been a tough football team. Illinois is expecting a competitive game, but In the end Illinois QB Nathan Sheelhaase leads them to victory. #JYPREDICTION: Illinois

NIU (away) vs. Purdue (home): Purdue Boilermakers head coach Darrell Hazell is showing his young team and the recruits he is going after that his football team will play the best opponents on big stages. Purdue has another tough opponent against undefeated Northern Illinios (3-0) with a potential Heisman Candidate in QB Jordan Lynch. Lynch led the Huskies past Iowa earlier in the season in their first game against a BigTen school. Northern Illinois is more experienced, and right now they are playing for respect nationally because they are such a good football team. Purdue playmaker RB Akeem Hunt needs to make his presence known early and give the Boilermakers a chance to pull off this upset. I think NIU has too much talent on the other end. #JYPREDICTION: Northern Illinois

NCAA Football: Michigan at Ohio State Big Ten

#23 Wisconsin (away) vs. #4 Ohio State (home): There are three letters that I would use to describe this game: O..M..G! You have two teams who are both equally favored to win the Big Ten Championship this season. Ohio State comes into this game undefeated. Wisconsin could easily be amongst the unbeatens had the situation not happened in Arizona State. The Badgers have arguable one of the best RB in the country with Melvin Gordon III. The Buckeyes super star QB Braxton Miller got injured early in the non conference season, but is expected to play on Saturday. Ohio State back up QB Kenny Guiton played incredible football in Miller’s absence, and we seen how dominant the Buckeyes are offensively with plenty weapons. The Badgers have another beast at RB in James White and it will challenge Ohio State defensively all game. It’s people who are saying Wisconsin is the best team in the Big Ten and others are claiming the Buckeyes. What history has shown us is that when Ohio State has to make a statement, they get the job done. Its tough to pick a winner because this game can go either way but Ohio State is focused on a national championship and they will get the job done at home. #JYPREDICTION: Ohio State
