Injuries. That’s one word we can sum up for the Lakers this season.

We have to wait 6 weeks until Metta World Peace is supposed to return. After the game Metta went on Twitter and tweeted saying “Sorry bout the injury. First ever knee injury. Recovery time hopefully is a week and a half” Metta World Peace (@MettaWorldPeace) March 27, 2013.  That is how long we expected Metta World Peace was going to be out for the Lakers. No one would have ever guessed he would have a made a recovery. Metta was injured on March 27th. The injury happened during the first half of the Warriors game. There was no thoughts or signs that he had injured it or aggravated it.  A player such as Chase Budinger small forward for the Timberwolves had the same injury and was reported be to be out for 4 months.  With Metta not playing we expected that the Antwan Jamison, Devin Ebanks, or Earl Clark to start.

Metta-World-Peace

Suprisingly Coach D’Antoni went with the smaller line-up and started Jodie Meeks. World Peace is actually having his best season as a Laker. He is avenging about 12.8 points per game. After 12 days undergoing successful surgery to repair his torn meniscus in his left knee he is take make his return today. Metta World PEace might help the Lakers reach the playoffs. The Lakers have 5 remaining games on their schedule, and very game is crucial. The Utah Jazz hold the tiebreaker over the Lakers. Los Angeles has a huge advantage though, as four of their final five games are at Staples Center. Will that be enough to push LA into the playoffs?

How big do you think the Metta World Peace injury is for the Lakers? Do you think Los Angeles will make the playoffs? Let us know in the comments
