2. McCutchen’s Journey– It’s no secret that several athletes grow up in poor backgrounds. Often times, sports are the way that they escape the harsh reality of their homes and living situations. It’s also no secret that Andrew McCuthen is one of the best up and coming stars in the MLB. This season alone, McCutchen batted .327 with 31 HRs 96 RBI’s 20 Stolen Bases, and a MVP worthy season. Yesterday, McCutchen tweeted a photo that perfectly captured what a young boy in a tough situation can do with a motivated mind.

“come a long way since livin here…Thank you God for all youve done n my life.#Amen“- Andrew McCutchen

You can’t help but root for this kid. He has nothing but greatness ahead of him, and it appears that he is extremely humble, which is something you don’t often see with stars in sports these days. Amen to McCutchen and his story.
