Is Atlanta the best team in the NFL? They could quite arguably be, as they head into Washington looking to make it a perfect 5-0 on the season. The Falcons have flown under the radar to start the season, as all eyes were situated on San Francisco’s good start. In fact, it looks like Vegas has not clued in, predicting this game to be a close one, putting just a 3 point spread on the Falcons to be victorious.
Washington fans are ecstatic with their team’s play and will be at the helm come Sunday to root on their young squad. The impressive maturity of rookie QB Robert Griffin III has led his team to a 2-2 record. With an opening week win against the Saints, this team proved they had something to put on the table. However, they followed that with two close losses, before pulling out a squeaker last week in Tampa Bay. The Redskins have played all their games down to the last possession with an average win/loss margin of 5.25 points.
When Brent Grimes went down with a season ending injury, many had disregarded the Falcons defense. Needless to say, those doubters were wrong, as the secondary has played lights out to start this season. The Falcons are averaging 2.25 turnovers per game and 1.25 interceptions per game. They allow a lot of points, but in the fourth quarter, they have been great. The smart off-season additions of veteran Asante Samules and Chris Hope have helped keep this defense on track.
Looking towards this game my money will be put down on the Falcons. They are a much better team and I believe a two point spread to be a slap in the face to this undefeated team. The Falcons will have too much for RG3 and the Skins, and we think they get the win, while covering the spread.
