Ole Miss vs. Tulane
Ole Miss has been surprisingly good on offense so far. That should continue against hapless Tulane. Enjoy a W and the city of New Orleans, Black Rebel Bears, your season is about to go south in a hurry.
38-17 Ole Miss
Kentucky vs. Florida
Florida gained a lot of confidence with the decisive win over Tennessee last week. It is all about building on that as the Gators face Kentucky. This one should be over quick, Kentucky is awful and Joker Phillips is already hitting the want ads.
Missouri vs. South Carolina
It is the second SEC test for Missouri. The health of quarterback James Franklin has been in question and he is the key for Missouri to have a chance. Meanwhile, South Carolina may have a quarterback controversy brewing with the success of back up Dylan Thompson during Connor Shaw’s absence. It won’t matter who lines up under center, South Carolina leaves Missouri without their first conference victory.
31-24 South Carolina
Vanderbilt vs. Georgia
Vanderbilt finally won a game this season against an out manned Presbyterian. The Commodores shouldn’t be a problem for Georgia, but Vandy is surprisingly stout on defense (ranked in the top five in the nation). Georgia will win, but this one will be close for a while.
Rutgers vs. Arkansas
The wheels have fallen off in Fayetteville. Arkansas has suffered the worst two week stretch in program history. The Hogs need a win badly. Rutgers toughest challenge to date has been South Florida. The Scarlet Knights were gifted four turnovers in that game. If Tyler Wilson plays, and I think he will, Arkansas is better team. If Wilson doesn’t play this goes down to the wire.
Game of the Week- Auburn vs. LSU
This is the default game of the week on name recognition alone. Auburn has been atrocious. They rank at the bottom of the SEC on offense and defense. Starting quarterback Kiehl Frazier struggled against Mississippi State. He was better against ULM, but it took a Hail Mary to make the difference for Auburn. Frazier has to play the game of his life for Auburn to have a chance, even that may not be enough. LSU is going to pound Auburn on offense and force the game into Frazier’s hands on defense. It could be a long night on the Plains.
Bonus: Paycheck Game of the Week
Florida Atlantic v. Alabama
The question about this game is how bad Florida Atlantic needs a check? Scheduling Georgia and Alabama in back to back weeks? Man, that’s rough no matter how much you get paid.
Alabama names the score.
