Well all eyes this week in the Big-12 were on the Kansas State-Oklahoma game, and boy, it did not disappoint. The Sooner led after the first, but the Wildcats jumped out in front in the 2nd and never looked back.  The Sooners have a brutal schedule left this season, so it’s no guarantee that they would have won out had they held on. Now, if you look at the Wildcats, they have a good schedule, facing just one ranked team (#9 West Virginia), before ending their season with three ranked teams.

Speaking of West Virginia, they are next in line in the Big-12 at the moment. The Mountaineers won their yearly game with Maryland 31-21, pushing them into the top 10 and to 3-0 on the young season. The next highest ranked team, #12 Texas, was idle last week. #15 TCU continued to roll against non-conference opponents, as they knocked off the Cavaliers of Virginia 27-7. And to round out the Top 25 Big-12 teams, newly ranked #25 Baylor stayed perfect on the year with a 47-42 win over Louisiana-Monroe.

Kansas continues to look like the only team that won’t threaten for a bowl bid, as they lost to Nortern Illinois 30-23, dropping them to 1-3. The other three teams in the league, Texas Tech, Iowa State, and Oklahoma State, all had bye weeks.

Kansas State and Oklahoma will both have an extra week to digest the result of their matchup, as they have byes this week. Kansas will also be joining them on the couches this week. Here’s a look at the rest of the matchups in the conference.

#25 Baylor at #9 West Virginia- This game is looking like much more of a sweat for the Mountaineers, as Baylor has been rolling so far this year. However, that has been against sub par competition. Now, they have to go on the road against an experienced Top 10 team. This should be a rather comfortable win for West Virginia.

#12 Texas at Oklahoma State- Texas has recorded three blowouts in all of their games so far.  Meanwhile, Ok State bounced back from a loss to Arizona by thumping Louisiana Lafayatte 65-24. This defense will figure to be a tad harder to beat, and I do like the Longhorns in this one.  I don’t think the Cowboys can score enough on Texas to threaten them. Look for the Longhorns to win 38-28.

#15 TCU takes on Southern Methodist, and this should be a blowout.

Texas Tech at Iowa State- It’s a battle of unbeatens so far, as the Red Raiders take on the Cyclones.  Neither team has played much of anyone this year, so it’s tough to guess what will happen, but I will lean towards Texas Tech.  They will look to pass the ball a ton, while Iowa Sate will want to slow it down and play defense. Look for Texas Tech to win this one 30-17.
