With all of the commotion and attention surrounding the London Olympics, it’s sometimes easy to forget that baseball is still going on in America. So we will take a break from the pool and the gym to bring you an impressive diving play from Padres shortstop Alexi Amarista. It was 4-4 in the bottom of the 8th, and the Marlins had a runner on with no outs. They ripped a bouncing grounder that should have made it through, but Amarista was having none of it. He dove full length, and timed it perfectly to snag the ball. Not only that, he had the quickness to get up and throw the runner out at 2nd. Let’s take a look at it.
