Blake Griffin is a regular on sportsinvasion’s plays of the day, but it is usually for his high flying dunks. Well he is back, but this time, it’s for his defense and hustle.  Midway through the 3rd quarter, the Clippers were trailing when the ball came loose. It was going into Marc Gasol‘s arms, but Griffin intervened, diving on the ground to grab the ball. His hustle was rewarded, as he got the ball to his fellow big man DeAndre Jordan, who put down the big slam. Check it out here.

Despite this effort, the Clippers were unable to close out the Grizzlies at home, forcing a series deciding game 7 in Memphis on Sunday. This has been an interesting series. Despite being down 3-1 earlier, hasn’t it seemed like Memphis has been in control of this series for the most part? Were it not for their epic meltdown in Game 1, this series would be over now. At this point, I have to give the Grizz the edge. They are playing better basketball, and will have the home court advantage, which is never more powerful then in a game 7.
