Did anyone see this one coming? The 76ers were thought to be no more then a fortunate benefactor from Derrick Rose’s torn ACL, as few gave them a good chance against the vaunted Boston Celtics. The two teams split the first two games by one point each, before the veteran Celtics dominated game 3, winning by 16, seemingly taking control of the series. Then, they collapse in Game 4, and it was tied again. They do the same thing in Game 5, winning by 16 again, yet again, they weren’t able to maintain control, losing Game 6. Now, we are at an unexpected Game 7. Let’s take a closer look.

How the 76ers can win: As I said before, I’m having trouble figuring out how the 76ers are in this spot. This team is loaded with young talent, but they lack a legit super star. I love Andre Iguodala, but I don’t have a ton of confidence in his big shot abilities, but he has done enough so far. He will have to have a huge game, and the sixers will need to speed the game up, using their young and athleticism against the Celtics, who will want to slow the game down.  If they are able to keep the tempo going, they have a chance. They will need to win htis game by 6-8 points. If its close at the end, I give the Celtics, who have exponentially more playoff experience then the sixers, a huge advantage. Especially at home.

How the Celtics can win: Just reverse all the stuff I just said. Nah it’s not that simple, but it kinda is. The Celtics will never live it down if they lose this series. I’m not trying to hate on Philly, but they are a year or two away from being legit contenders. This might be the last year the Celtics have a shot at the title with this core group. They can’t go out like this. I expect Rajon Rondo to have a big game. He has a knack for stepping up when the C’s need a leader. Same goes for Paul Pierce, who has struggled so far this series, with games of 16, 14, and 7 points respectfully. You know that Ray Allen is going to make a couple threes, and Kevin Garnett will have to continue to play 5 years younger then he is.

My Prediction: I just can’t see anyway that Boston doesn’t win this game. They have way more experience, and they have a much better starting five. The sixers can only win if their bench crushes the Celtics bench.  I think this will be a close game until the fourth, where the C’s will slowly pull away, and win the game 91-82, moving on to a date with the Miami Heat.
