Well this is something you don’t see every day. In fact, if your a Dodgers fan, you haven’t seen this since the 20th century! The last time the Dodgers turned a triple play was 1998, but over the weekend, they did just that against the San Diego Padres. The play is actually rather bizarre, as there seems to be confusion on the side of both the Padre players, and the announcers calling the game. Check out the clip below, and judge for yourself.

As weird as it turned out, it was the right call. The ball clearly hits the bat, and falls in front of the plate, making it a live ball.  Don’t look now, but the Dodgers are scorching coming out of the gate, putting up an impressive 9-1 record, by far the best in the majors right now.  Maybe they were tired of all the talk being for the “other” LA team, the Angels, and their big free agent acquisitions. We’ll see if the Dodgers can hold on, because we have a longgggggg way to go in the season.

What do you think of the play? Was there a better one in baseball this weekend? Let us know in the comments!
