Ok I’m going to say it: doesn’t Blake Griffin deserve some love for MVP. Look I was surprised to see that Griffin’s numbers are virtually identical from last years, as he is averaging almost 21 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 assists a game. Chris Paul is getting most of the credit for the Clippers turn around, and obviously it’s well deserved, but Griffin was never making plays like this in college or even last year. He plays great defense, then runs the floor, and isn’t able to put in a simple slam. Rather, he somehow gets this shot to go. Check it out.
The fact is, Griffin is a star. He’s playing in Los Angeles, he’s one of the best athelte’s in the game, and arguably most importantly, he’s very charismatic. The fan loves him, and it won’t be long (I think next year is the year) that this is the Clipper’s town instead of the Lake Show.
What do you think of the play? Does Griffin deserve more credit for the team’s turnaround? Let us know in the comments!
